Style and Character

Enzo Cecconi, the youngest-ever general manager of the famous Cipriani in Venice, opened Cecconi’s in London in 1978. It opened to huge interest owing to its insanely high prices for luxury dining (think the rarest white truffle poured over several dishes). It closed in 2004 and Enzo Cecconi’s name continued as an Italian food brand. This was bought up by Soho House in 2004. There are single branches in several of the world’s key cities from Mumbai to New York.
For the first time, Londoners were able to order fresh pasta, beef carpaccio, tiramisu, rocket, and Bellini cocktails. Enzo Cecconi believed in spectacular food and spectacular service, bringing theatre into the restaurant by finishing dishes in front of his guests’ eyes.
Cecconi’s was an overnight success and became a magnet for the celebrities and royalty (one lunchtime during Ascot week, a waiter remembers serving members of four different royal families on four different tables).
The restaurant is situated in what used to be The Wolseley. It has had some redecoration but in essence the premises is the same in a different colour scheme.
Food and Drink
This spontaneous, drop in visit whilst shopping demonstrated genuinely good hospitality and some classic Italian dishes done well. By reputation I hear that the carpaccio had good flavour and not smothered in too much oil as can very often be the case and even the sides of creamed spinach and zucchini fries would be a pleasant surprise (good consistency on the creamed spinach and the zucchini fries were crisp and also not overloaded with hot oil). There is also a pizza section on the other side of the restaurant which also looked tempting.
It was early on a Sunday so just a light breakfast was in order.

Indulge in the ultimate breakfast luxury with the mouthwatering Eggs Benedict. Perfectly poached eggs nestled on top of a crisp sourdough, then some hand carved ham and topped with creamy hollandaise sauce and a sprinkle of fresh chives. I do not know the provinence of the ingredients but they tasted wonderful. This classic brunch dish is sure to impress your taste buds and elevate your morning routine. Guaranteed to satisfy your cravings and leave you craving for more.
Verdict
A good option to try in general if one is shopping at Bicester and this will undoubtedly serve the shoppers well.
